From
Medical Field to Law:
It's All About Helping
When
Camille Iurillo went to college and obtained two science
degrees, she couldn’t have imagined that her career
wouldn’t always be in the medical field. But in managing a
hospital laboratory for many years, Camille became more than a
little experienced dealing with legal issues – and
discovered another talent: law. So when she had the urge to
make a career change and do something that would help people
more directly, she saw law school as an “interesting bridge
to make the transition to a field where I could still help
people and hopefully have an even greater impact.”
Camille,
a native of Long Island, graduated from Stetson in St.
Petersburg and fell in love with the city. After law school,
she joined a firm in Orlando, which merged with a firm in
Tampa. She later joined a firm where Camille set up a
bankruptcy department. In 2003 she moved back to St.
Petersburg and opened her own firm, where she specializes in
working with disputes over money or property or “business
relationships gone bad.”
For
R&R, Camille and her husband play tennis; Camille and her
husband and their dog bicycle and go motor boating. Camille
never had a dog before they found Bailey, a Brittany. As a
condition to getting Bailey, they had to agree to show him. So
Camille learned how to care for, handle, and show a dog. Now
that he is a champion and she no longer is obligated to show
him, it’s all fun and play. Born to hunt and run in the
fields all day, Bailey gets his workouts by running 15-20 mph,
for up to 45 minutes, alongside his biking humans.
The
hiring of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be
based solely upon advertisements.
